Trainer Profile

Mike Jones is a writer and creative producer across screen, page and interactive media. He is the Head of Story Development for interactive media company Portal Entertainment whose projects include immersive iPad thriller 'The Craftsman', dark genre content discovery system 'Thrill Me' & storytelling technology platform 'Immersion Go'. Portal Entertainment was the recipient of the British ICTommorow Digital Innovation award for Film & TV and the exclusive TimeWarner MediaCamp partnership.

As a novelist Mike is published internationally by Simon & Schuster and his new 3-book series of gothic horror novels entitled ‘Transgressions’ was released in mid 2015. The TV series and interactive adaptation of 'Transgressions' is currently in development with multiplatform studio, The Project Factory.

Currently working on TV and hybrid digital series projects in the US, Mike has previously pioneered online series in Australia serving as EP on cult post-apocalyptic trilogy, the 'Wastelander Panda Chronicles' by Epic Films, featured at SXSW and steered the writers-room on the follow-up 6-part series for ABCiView & MadManFilms.

Mike is the consultant for US and UK studios as well as development agencies in Australia, & lecturer at the Australian Film TV & Radio School. He has coordinated multiplatform and interactive development programmes worldwide including the Immersive Writing Lab UK, SAFC Digital360 Lab, Doha Film Institute Transmedia Project and Platform X for the Australian Writers Guild.
