MASTERCLASS: Lighting Techniques

 

Overview

Nothing is more important than good lighting in visual storytelling. This essential masterclass is designed to fulfil the requirements of today's highly regarded High Definition (HD) images. It will cover a variety of lighting set-ups on documentary, drama and studio lighting techniques.

The class will go through all different lighting fixtures such as Tungsten, HMI, with special emphasis on LED lighting and its relative colour correction by using the camera menu.

Trainer Profile

Aly Yeganeh has been a cinematographer/director and a trainer for more than 25 years in film and television industry. He has an M.F.A. in Film and Communication from Southern Methodist University (USA), and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Nanterre (France). In addition, he lectures in Semiology at University of Sorbonne and in Digital Theory at London Film School.

Dr Aly works internationally as an HD Specialist. He is also a Senior Instructor at French National Television where in the last 20 years, he has delivered over 200 High Definition and Advanced Digital Cinematography workshops for Professional DP’s, Operators and Assistants.

Since 2011, in parallel with French Televisions, he is training Cameramen, Directors and producers in HD at Turkish Radio and Television Corporation.
