MASTERCLASS: Advanced Screenwriting

 

Overview

This 3-day screenwriting masterclass is specifically designed for advanced students who already possess a fundamental understanding of screenplay mechanics and want to rewrite their scripts to Hollywood standards. Participants will learn to look at their work with a critical eye and employ powerful rewriting techniques used by the best screenwriting professionals.

The course will comprise of round table readings of “works in progress”, writing labs, participation in “creative pods” to solve story problems and one-on-one coaching with Cory Tynan, who will give each student individualised notes and suggest screenplay revisions with the same expertise he employs when working with paid Hollywood screenwriters.

Trainer Profile

Cory Tynan has a B.A. in Film & Television from California State University Northridge, has been an active member of the Writers' Guild of America since 1989, and is currently Vice-President of Film and TV Development for Reuben Cannon Entertainment. His script, “A Dog and Pony Show” just finished shooting in Los Angeles, his screenplay “The Novice” (starring Chuck Norris) will lens next year in Australia, and “Capture The Dragon” is set to shoot in Shanghai 2016 . In March, Cory taught a Screenwriting Workshop Intensive at the Singapore Media Academy to glowing reviews. He has also coached numerous professional TV and Film writers since 2003. In addition, Cory has been nominated for several writing awards.
