WSQ Write a Documentary Script

Scottish documentarian John Grierson was believed to have coined the word “documentary”. He believed that a new art form could be created by exploiting cinema’s potential for observing life. Documentaries have also been called factual films that are dramatic. How does one write a script for life? A well-written script should be able to capture the imagination of the audience and help them visualise the overall experience on the screen.

Participants will get a clear understanding of the various documentary modes and formats, learn how to conceptualise a compelling documentary, conduct research, devise a plot structure for the script and write the documentary script.
