Overview

This course covers assisting the director in the coordination of all production activity, and supervising the cast and crew. The skills include creating a shooting schedule; overseeing the hiring of locations, props and equipment; checking weather reports; and, liaising between the director and the production office.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Liaise between the director and the production office during film production to provide updates on the shoot
  • Break down scripts identifying all production elements for each scene
  • Create the shooting schedule for a film production
  • Produce production  paperwork that needs to be submitted to the film's producer
  • Oversee the hiring of locations, props and equipment with the production's requirements and budget
  • Supervise the cast and crew on set to ensure that the production progresses according to the production schedule
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained and procedures are followed on a film set in accordance with workplace and safety requirements
