  • Students who wish to withdraw from the course are required to complete the "Course Withdrawal/Deferment Form" and submit it to students@MediaAcademy.sg. The course fee is refundable based on Singapore Media Academy's prevailing refund policy. Refund requests that are received after 12 noon would be considered as submission on the next working day.

    In circumstances where Deferment is permitted as an available option:

    1. Student is required to complete the "Course Deferment Request Form" and submit to students@MediaAcademy.sg no less than 14 days before course commencement date. The request for deferment is subjected to Singapore Media Academy’s approval.

    2. The request for deferment is not granted automatically and application for deferment is also subject to the availability for the subsequent intake/module.

    3. Any decision relating to deferment shall be made at the sole discretion of Singapore Media Academy and that shall be final.

    4. Student is allowed to defer his/her course to the next successful intake conducted by Singapore Media Academy. Should the student decide not to accept his/her training place in the next successful intake, there will be no refund for any fees which were paid. No request for further deferment will be entertained unless otherwise approved by Singapore Media Academy.

    5. Should the next 2 intakes marketed not be successful, Singapore Media Academy will provide a full refund of any fees paid to the student.

     

    Modes of Refund

    1. Student will receive their monetary refund (if eligible) through the following channels:

    - Payments made in cash, Nets, bank transfer, or cheque: Refunds will be made via cheque*.

    - Payments by credit card: Refunds will be refunded directly back to the credit card from which the payment was made or via cheque*.

    *A crossed cheque will be issued in the name of the student (name as registered on legal documents). Singapore Media Academy will not entertain any requests for such cheque to be issued to a third party#.

    #Exceptions may be made for cheque to be issued in the name of parent or legal guardian of the student upon written request (subject to Singapore Media Academy's approval). Evidence of the relationship between the child and the parent (i.e. Birth Certificate) or legal guardian must be submitted to Singapore Media Academy to support the request.

    2. Singapore Media Academy may request for supporting documents for the refund request. Please note that failure to produce the required documents may lead to a delay in the processing of the refund.

    3. Singapore Media Academy will notify the student/parent/legal guardian via email when the transaction is completed.

    4. Student Affairs Department will record and file outcomes of the refund requests in the student p-file.
